"There’s something kind of enduring about a band stuck in the music it loved during those formative years in the 1990s. And no, not the ’90s love that indie bands are dolloping out to seminal groups like Nirvana and Sonic Youth. No, Toaster Fork is more rooted in the sounds of classic rock bands and in ’90s groups like Soul Asylum and Days Of The New. Yes, this is all conjecture and no, the result of the marrying of these sounds is definitely not flawless: It’s a cock-strut through the alt-y archives of yesteryear, and in some ways it works. At other times, it’s way too much, but Toaster Fork somehow leaves you pulling for it. The band is unwaveringly positive, like the basement rock band that your coworker is in because he just can’t let go. As music fans, we can appreciate that."
