“CMA of Texas Songwriter of the Year 2015”

Hoss Mayfield - CMA of Texas

"When Thom Shepherd picks up a guitar and steps on stage, the hours just fly by"

Program Director Kirsten Winquist - Sirius XM Radio Margaritaville

“Host of "Live From the Redneck Yacht Club," winner of "Best Radio Show", Trop Rock Music Awards 2015”

“I've seen Thom perform solo 4 times, but the romp with the full band at The Big Barndance was KILLER! Man, he tore the roof off the barn! Fantastic set. Loved the new stuff, particularly 22 Long (the Owen Temple co-write), funny and real clever.”

“Thom Shepherd is one of my favorite people, and I’ve made it pretty clear that’s how I feel. He’s a kind, upbeat, positive person who also happens to be a heck of a songwriter and singer.”

“I went to see Kevin Fowler at Gruene Hall on Saturday and got an unexpected surprise - Thom Shepherd! I was like wow, who is this guy??? His band was awesome and I didn’t realize he had written so many songs like “Redneck Yacht Club” and “Riding with Private Malone.” He apparently has written some of Fowler’s hits too - he sang “Beer Season” in his show and then sat in with Kevin on the song “Hip Hop in a Honkytonk.” He also sang some songs he wrote with Kyle Park and Josh Abbott - “The Night Is Young” and “You Ain’t Met My Texas Yet.” But I was more impressed with the songs I never heard before. He has one called “Feeder Road Do-Si-Do” that is hilarious and “Texas Girls” sounds like a Texas standard that should be played in every honkytonk. I met him after the show, he was super cool and I got his CD and have been wearing it out ever since! I feel like I have discovered the next big thing to hit Texas.”

“Dave Wheaton says to Thom Shepherd, "you're the epitome of what Texas country music is all about...the music is shared, people appreciate it, you'll go on stage and sing somebody else's song and they sing yours. It's beautiful and exceptional and what it's all about"”

Dave Wheaton - KEAN Radio.com

“The writer of 5 NUMBER ONE SONGS "The Night is Young" - Kyle Park "Riding with Private Malone" - David Ball "Redneck Yacht Club" - Craig Morgan "Beer Season" - Kevin Fowler "My Texas" - Josh Abbott & Pat Green”

“Over 95 songs recorded by George Jones, Craig Morgan, Montgomery Gentry, Easton Corbin, Josh Abbott, Tracy Lawrence, Colt Ford, Pam Tillis, Kevin Fowler, David Ball, Kyle Park, Honeybrowne and many more”

“Grammy nominee for "The Rock," recorded by Tracy Lawrence”

“The 2011 GMA Canada SONG and VIDEO of the Year, "A Father's Love (The Only Way He Knew How)", recorded by High Valley, was written by Thom Shepherd, Steve Williams and Liz Hengber”

“Strong-Willed Songwriters Take Hold at Bluebird Cafe Tonight Tonight's Bluebird Cafe show is slated to share a lot of willpower, even for the sheepish. Among tonight's (somewhat risque) rounders are country music hitmakers Thom Shepherd (an equally gifted singer as well as unique lyricist) and talented witty writer/recording artist Trent Willmon. In addition to penning songs for the likes of Craig Morgan ("Redneck Yacht Club") and David Ball ("Riding With Private Malone") Nashville resident Shepherd has also been busy herding his talent elsewhere - touring in Texas and working with Texas country music star Kevin Fowler, who just released a greatest hits album and in May signed with Average Joe's Entertainment in Nashville. The Shepherd co-written "Beer Season" appears on his hits collection. If you can make tonight's show, be sure to stay until the end - as one of Shepherd's fan favorites, "Djibouti", tends to appear towards the rear...”
