This evening is about sharing experiences, learning how to overcome life's challenges, how to find motivation through fear and that happiness is a mindset. Bob has asked some dear friends The Traveling Mabels to join him on stage and provide music that will touch your soul. It will be an emotion filled evening providing insights and answers to some of life's mysteries, it will be an event that you do not want to miss. Your host Bob Wilkie, former NHL hockey player, life coach, and owner of I Got Mind, shares his story for the first time in public. The book Sudden Death-The incredible saga of the 1986 Swift Current Broncos is finally released. Bob has put together an evening of conversation around struggle, fear, accomplishment and overcoming tragedy. We all face challenges in our lives, we have all had things happen to us that make us question why?
Catch some of Alberta’s finest performers as they play from the great Canadian songbook, drawing on this country’s treasure trove of Prairie Poets - from Ian Tyson to Neil Young, to Joni Mitchell, the Prairie Provinces have given us some of the world’s most gifted songwriters. Whether it’s the Travelling Mabels singing Harvest Moon or SAVK performing This Flight Tonight, it will be a night of fresh takes on timeless classics and rediscovering underappreciated gems. The artists will also be performing prairie inspired songs from their own repertoires. Taking the evening’s theme to a whole other level will be Voyageur, the Six String Nation Guitar. Each of the guest artists will perform songs on the guitar, an instrument inspired by the nation itself and constructed with more than 60 historic artifacts collected from across the country including seat 69 from Massey Hall, Wayne Gretzky’s hockey stick, Trudeau’s canoe paddle and many more. Jowi Taylor, the visionary behind the guitar, will emcee the show and kick things off with a short presentation about this amazing instrument and some of the many stories behind it. Don’t miss this night of great Canadian songs and stories performed by a stellar line up of Alberta talent
