“Featured performers are The Traveling Murphys, champion Irish storyteller Mairtin de Cogain, and the Jackson Irish Dancers. De Cogain and JID have been regular festival favorites since its inception 10 years ago. Newcomers The Traveling Murphys is a Houston, Texas based family band playing a mix of Celtic, bluegrass, old time country and folk music. The Traveling Murphys’ harmonies and arrangements are unique yet nostalgic and their level of musicianship will make you forget two of the four members aren't even old enough to drive. The public is invited to the Ouachita Valley Branch library at 601 McMillan Road in West Monroe on Thursday, October 2nd at 6 pm for a show by The Traveling Murphys. The NELA Celtic Festival and Scottish Highland Games will be hosted at Kiroli Park on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. for an entry fee at the gate of 50 cents per person.”
