As one of the few groups from the United States that regularly travel to China to perform and teach jazz music, the Terry Hsieh Collective strives to make multicultural and intellectually-conscious music that you can still rock out to. Hailed by All About Jazz as having “distinct voices; positive energy,” The Terry Hsieh Collective’s debut album Multiplicity is a diverse toe-tapping musical tapestry written by all six members of the band; an explosive collection of influences ranging from 21st century modern to traditional Chinese music, R&B, jazz and pop. The album features guest artists long-time Dave Holland collaborator and trombonist Robin Eubanks, and world-renowned saxophonist Miguel Zenon, with Terry Hsieh on trombone, Alexander Cummings on alto saxophone and flute, Patrick Adams on trumpet, Jacob Baron on keyboards, piano and synthesizers, Peter Manheim on drums and Matt Adomeit on bass.
