“On their second LP, The Plastics seldom stray too far from the hookladen indie-rock formula of their debut, Shark. There’s the wondrously shambolic “Underwater Kite”, the Arctic Monkeys-esque “Sooner Than Later” and the psychedelic “Mud and Money”. Album opener “Occasional Lies” – a tale of bruised and battered suburban love – is a thrilling study in perfect pop that’s matched only by “Stereo Kids”. Along with “Best Pretenders”, these are the kind of songs you want to hear on radio: superbly produced (Shai Hirschson), boasting smart lyrics sung in terrific style by Pascal Righini and wound around a chorus that always gets you singing along.”
