The Tamika Festival launches on April 30, 2014 at The Omenala Griot African Teaching Museum located 337 Dargan Place, Atlanta, GA 30310. In 2008, the beautiful sisters of Delta Sigma Theta chose Tamika "Georgiame" Harper to the recipient of the KUUMBA award. Georgiame joins great women like Pearl Cleage, Keisha Knight Pulliam, and Judith Jamison. In turn, the cities of Atlanta, East Point, College Park, and Fulton County proclaimed May 4th TAMIKA "GEORGIAME" HARPER DAY!! In true GA.Me fashion she chooses to serve others, highlight gifts, and enlighten her fellow Atlantans. Thus, the TAMIKA FESTIVAL was born.
