Honky Tonk Hacienda: Kenneth Brian Band, Cisco & Dewey, Ruby Boots Ruby Boots - (Set time: 8:00 PM)Ruby Boots, aka Australias sparky, truth-soaked alt-country troubadour Bex Chilcott, has just released her debut album, Solitude, through Lost Highway Records Australia, featuring singles "Middle Of Nowhere," co-written and with guest vocals by with Vikki Thorn (The Waifs), and recorded and produced with Tony Buchen (Tim Finn, The Preatures, Mama Kin) and Wrap Me In A Fever, recorded and produced by Anna Laverty (Jae Laffer, Paul Dempsy, New Gods) at Sing Sing Studio, Melbourne. The Album has been highlighted as Feature Album Of The Week on RRR, PBS and RTR FM and is receiving rave reviews around the country. Ruby Boots bold and unafraid music doesnt hide from what she wants. For principal singer and songwriter Bex Chilcott its all drive, and the coarse edges of raw musical passion havent been buffed off, but embraced as her music rings more true to herself than ever. Her somewhat cowboy mouth rolls out banter with the heart-warming charm of a drunken Irishman. This is not cookie cutter country music dressed for outback B&S balls. Adding her flair to the Australian Americana / Alt Country scene for some years now, show after show she has received accolades, nabbing coveted support spots with Shaky Graves / Shovels & Rope and Tony Joe White this year. Her signing with Lost Highway Records Australia, and most recently her gong for West Australian Music (WAM) Country Song of The Year Award with single "Wrap Me In A Fever," confirm that Ruby Boots star is clearly on the rise. Her earthy, streetwise vocals heave with longing, love and laughter. This brand of Americana would be as welcome at the Grand Ole Opry as an ice cold drink in a dusty outback bar. - The Age Theres maturity and intelligence here in spades and the production is of the highest order Its the ups and downs of real life live encapsulated in song and Ruby Boots has captured that and more on her world class debut. - The Music Cisco & Dewey - (Set time: 9:00 PM)Tony "Cisco" Marsico is no stranger to the desert. Marsico was a member of the Los Angeles punk band The Plugz who would later morph into the Cruzados, who released two albums on Arista records. Their wide open desert sound was a hybrid of Tex Mex and rock and roll that helped set the tone for the L.A . scene in the 80's consisting of X, The Blasters, Los Lobos, Dwight Yoakum and more. Marsico would go on to record as a session bassist with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Roger Daltrey, Marianne Faithful, John Doe, Peter Case among others. It was on a session years back for songwriter Gerry Goffin where Marsico would first run into Darran "Dewey" Falcone who had been putting down some vocals and harmonica on tracks. The two struck up a friendship and started writing songs together. In April of 2014 Marsico started thinking about his friend Dewey and after a long search tracked his pal down who had settled into Joshua Tree, California ten years prior where Dewey had built his house and took up racing motorcycles full time. In late 2014 Cisco and Dewey wrote a full albums worth of new songs in Joshua Tree, CA and in January of 2015 their first album was released with Tony Gilkyson (X, Dave Alvin), Joel Alpers (Carole King), Greg Leisz (Eric Clapton, K.D.Lang), Rick Vito (Fleetwood Mac, John Fogerty), Barry Goldberg (Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan), Gary Mallaber (Van Morrison, Steve Miller Band) and Gia Ciambotti (Bruce Springsteen, Lucinda Williams). In July 2015, Cisco and Dewey performed at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles with special guests joining the band on stage- Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakum) and Gary Malaber (Van Morrison, Steve Miller). Their second release, due out in January 2016, is recorded by Paul DuGre (Los Lobos, Bruce Springsteen) with guests Dave Alvin (Blasters), Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakum) plus Mike Thompson (The Eagles) on piano and organ. Together, with a sense of humor and style, two gentlemen (who are too self-effacing about their talent to ever rub it in your face) have created music that finds its way into the heart like water finds the desert ground. - Ted Quinn, Radio Free Joshua Tree "The album, Cisco and Dewey, truly seems to encompass a piece of every amazing artist theyve ever come in contact with. Its a bit of folk infused Uncle Tupelo style rock meets a bit of Blue Grass brightness, with rich straight forward, soul connecting, honest vocals, the album is not only a great introduction to these artists as they stand on their own, but it is packed full of musicianship." - Lisa Morgan, Coachella Valley Weekly Kenneth Brian Band feat. Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) - (Set time: 10:00 PM)The Kenneth Brian Bands smokin brand of outlaw country music meets Southern Rock is led by the powerful vocals and incendiary lead guitar of Kenneth Brian. The rest of the band includes Travis Stephens on rhythm guitar and harmony vocals, Frank Rische on bass, and tonight's show features Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & THe Heartbreakers) on drums. As the title suggests, the debut album from The Kenneth Brian Band, Welcome to Alabama, is an introduction to the New South, by way of a relentless attack of tracks featuring masterful song-crafting, blistering guitar work, spot-on harmonies, and a take-no-prisoners-rhythm section, all tied together by Brians honest voice and unapologetically straight-forward point of view. Their much-anticipated new EP, Blackbird, lands on August 28th 2015. The Kenneth Brian Band returned home to Decatur, Alabama to record Blackbird during breaks from touring as opener for Lucinda Williams between 2013-15. The goal of the EP was to capture the essence of the band's impactful live show, and Blackbird does just that! The EP features a new ingredient in the mix: the keyboard wizardry of the late Isaiah "Ikey" Owens, a member of The Mars Volta and Jack White's band, who passed away in October of 2014, but not before leaving his unique sonic and spiritual imprint on Blackbird. "The past, present and future of Outlaw Country Music." - The Gainesville Sun "Somewhere between Lynyrd Skynyrd and Drive-By Truckers..."- Lucinda Williams
