WINSLOW FAMILY BAND / / / THE GRIPS / / DUSTIN SELLERS & FRIENDS / The 5 Spot
Open Jam started 4-5 years ago at the French Quarter Cafe in East Nashville, TN. It was run by Andrew, Dilley, & Eric, playing in Dilley Power and having another various group join them each Thursday night. Bands would end around 1am and then Open Jam would go til around 3am. Sometimes Dennis (FQ owner) would lock the doors at 3am and let the jam continue until 4-5am, smoking and drinking inside (plus other things). If it was one of those really late nights & Dennis was feeling good, he would fry up french fries, stuffed & breaded jalapeno poppers, breaded chicken tenders, and breaded shrimp and would serve it in a huge dish that he called "The Dogbowl." Unfortunately, those days ended. Justin Martin (Eddie's son) called up Eric & Andrew, asking them to meet to discuss doing a Jam at The Pond in early September, 2010. After that, every Monday at The Pond has been "Monday Night Open Jam" : It has been for 3 years to be exact, on Monday, Sept. 16th. Thus, we will be celebrating the 3 year anniversary of Monday Night Open Jam and this will be combined with a French Quarter reunion (of all the people that used to come out almost every Thursday). The entertainment for the night will be the oldest and newest (revived) instrumental group on G.E.D. Soul Records, "The Grips". Then---> we're gonna take things back for OPEN JAM (hosted by Andrew Muller, Alex Dilley, & Eric Koslosky) Plus-->SAL RUCCO spinning vinyl before, after, & in between MONDAY, September 16th SAL RUCCO @ 9pm-10pm THE GRIPS @ 10pm-11pm SAL RUCCO @ 11pm-11:30pm OPEN JAM @ 11:30pm-1:30am SAL RUCCO @ 1:30am-2:30am $2 PBR Tallboys & Free Admission!
