1/22/12 Tavern $5/All Ages Jazmine Trio - 11:20pm Saints & Poets - 9:50pm Evil Elite - 8:30pm Tickets: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/SaleEventDetail?dispatch=loadSelectionData&eventId=4204515&pl=beachland Jazmine Trio - In a town where hip hop and metal rule the waves, the Jazmine Trio brings soul to an area ripe for a new sound. Hailing from north east Ohio, this trio of young bloods mix classic rock and blues with a fresh twist of jazz and indie rock. The band pays homages to past greats like Pink Floyd, The Doors, and Led Zeppelin along with modern Indie artists like The Black Keys, The Walkmen, and The National, all the while making the sound completely their own. Don't let their ages fool you. Talent runs deep among these twenty some year old, multi instrumentalists, and they especially prove it on stage, where the band really shines. The leading keys are accompanied by, jamming baselines, reactive drumming, and guitar riffs that are used sparingly but with purpose. Jazmines unique sound comes from a background as diverse as the members that make it up. The poetic vocals of singer/songwriter Seth Jones (keys, bass) bursts onto the scene in full force whenever the music allows, in a style that's hard to pinpoint, but can be compared with the likes of Ray Lamontage and Jim Morrisson. Doug Ornas (keys, drums) was originally with the Cleveland area metal group "Set Free Among the Dead Themselves" and interprets his technical drumming for the jazz/blues world. Bringing to the table his classic rock tendencies, mixed with a unique style and a tone he's made completely his own is Jake Hegedus (Guitar, Bass). During a time where the roots of jazz, blues, and rock seem forgotten, the Jazmine Trio gives a refreshing look at the old mixed with the new. Saints & Poets - The secret to Saints and Poets is that we're friends first, band-mates second. It's always been that way, and in my opinion, that's how it should be. We started out as a bunch of snot-nosed suburban kids that had no business playing (and certainly not writing) music. But we never let ourselves figure that out. We just had fun. As time went on, we grew up. We learned how to put on a show, how to write music, and how to make a drum set fit into the back of a mini van. We're still working out all the details. We've got a lot of friends and family that love to go to our shows, and I'm very thankful for them. They make it worth it every time. If you happen to stop by, be prepared for a dance-off. You've been warned in advance. The Evil Elite - The Evil Elite formed in Cleveland, Ohio during the fall of 2010 as a four-piece comprised of Dan Cooley (Guitar), Nate Dreher (Bass), Pat Conley (Vocals, Drums), and Jonathan Khouri (Piano, Keyboards). The band quickly recorded an EP, and play throughout Northeast Ohio. They have received a great reception to powerful live performances that display musicianship, eclectic songwriting, and rock vocals with raw energy and catchy hooks. The Evil Elite are in the studio, January 2012, to track a full-length album with engineer/musician Eric Day (The Broderick, You're A Liar) of SLEEPWALK Recording in Bloomington, Indiana. Stay Tuned!
