Martin McNeil & the Dissidents / Patrick Davy and the Ghosts / TBA The band met in a strange way. About 3 years ago Martin was drinking at his local music bar in a sleepy town called Harrogate in the north of England and was awakened from his whiskey induced slumber by the crystalline voice of Michigan native Alison Lewis, who was on tour at the time. After introducing themselves after the show they spent a night hanging out drinking wine and playing songs. They parted company the next day promising they would work together one day.Fast forward 3 years and Martin was living in Malta with a half written album and an idea. Teaming up with lead guitarist Jimmy 'The Dead Man' Bartolo after meeting on a bus (that's another story) the songs took shape quickly and they recruited the help of Steve Young, the guitarist in a previous band 'Rehab' that Martin was the vocalist in. They roughly demo'd 4 tracks and sent them to Detroit for Alison Lewis to start work. These were then taken to producer Mark Mcrae who with Martin and Jimmy added his distinct production to the songs. The debut single 'Melquiadez' was released December 2010 and received immediate US radio airplay and attention from the industry. Bear in mind half the band have never actually met, so it ain't bad going. 2011 promises to be a fruitful year. A debut album scheduled for release in August and then playing in a town/city/shack near you!
