“Currently on their headlining tour, prodigal band The Daylights sat down with YouPlusDallas to tell us about their music, origin, and fan affiliation. “What a couch!” guitarist and vocalist Ran Jackson exclaims before shaking my hand and introducing himself. We’re in the green room of The Prophet Bar, where a worn, mustard yellow sofa sits against the wall, beckoning the band to have a seat for their on-camera interview....”

“The Daylights Will Make You Happy If you’ve never heard The Daylights before you’re definitely missing out. They’ve toured with Katy Perry, Needtobreathe, OneRepublic, and are currently headlining their own tour and taking amazing musician Andrew Ripp along with them.”

“Backstage in the green room, drummer Svend LErche settles into a well-loved couch, while vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Ran Jackson sits oppusite him in a mismatched chair. Ran's brother Ricky-the bands singing bassist and self proclaimed socialite-cracks jokes from the corner of the room huddled over a table of Texas chips and salsa...”

“KOAR favorite The Daylights will self release a new album soon. Listen to the song Rogue Machine. In fact, we profiled this Los Angeles pop indie act today of last year. The Daylights who made it on our SXSW radar list will be performing at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on April 15th. Katy Perry, One Republic, and Switchfoot all tweeted the link to the video the day of the release, resulting in 18,000 downloads of the mp3. For fans of Kings of Leon, Coldplay, etc. Strong myspace plays and just picked up legal. Contact: danielrfriedman@mac.com Follow Kings of A&R on Twitter.”

“The Daylights @ SXSW 2010 – Live Review Want to know the next big rock act?! On Thursday night I saw The Daylights play The Dirty Dog at an official SXSW 2010 showcase. I was blown away and truly believe these guys are the real deal! The Daylights are from Los Angeles and the band is fronted by brothers Ran and Ricky Jackson. The two brothers share duties on vocals and guitars – the guitars are rockin’ and the harmonies are dead on. Keeping the beat behind the brothers is drummer Svend Lerche. Within the last year, The Daylights have been opening acts on both Katy Perry and One Republic tours. In the next few months the band will release their first full-length album on their own. The Daylights currently have no set touring plans but I’m sure the second half of 2010 will fill up with dates soon.”

“At the Grammys, chatted up this trio of friendly guys: The Daylights. Twin brothers Ran Jackson and Ricky Jackson were at the Grammys for the first time with their bandmate Svend Lerche.”

“An alternative pop/rock trio with a lush, bombastic sound, the Daylights formed in 2004 in Los Angeles, CA. Brothers Ricky (bass/guitar) and Ran Jackson (guitar/keyboard) provided the group's foundation, while Danish drummer Svend Lerche joined the lineup several months later”

“Rihanna was seen shaking and grooving in the front row of “I Kissed a Girl” singer, Katy Perry’s concert in Los Angeles at the Wiltern. She was reportedly really into The Daylights, who was the opening act.”

“the Daylights offered a solid opening set. The good-looking, L.A.-based band has a bit of a Coldplay vibe and a scruffy rock energy that piqued my interest. A full-length is due soon -- and has space reserved on my iPod.”

“Katy Perry at the Santa Barbara Bowl”

“What do you like or hate most about touring? There is not much that I hate about touring other than the lack of sleep sometimes.”

“As for the band that opened the show—The Daylights—well, I fell in love. Immediately upon entering the stage and playing their first song, my friends and I were blown away.”

“Katy Perry With The Daylights and Luke Pritchard of The Kooks”

“we were kind of stunned by the warm reaction the band received from the crowd there to see pop music's It Girl.”

“I hope this EP is a sign of whats to come. I’m still waiting on a full length album… and hopefully some of their songs that I like (that are not released) will be on a new LP. In the meantime, check out their new EP, Sans Radio.”
