Reichelt (9:30pm) + The Band from Oddworld (8:30pm) Reichelt addresses issues lyrically that most song writers shy away from. ‘Why do my evil plans always fail?’ he queries. Love songs for moths, existential questions about being a snail shell and aggressive songs about dungeons & dragons all appear on his radar. Armed with a 3-piece band (Guy Cooper, Dan Hitzke & Michael Gillingwater) the songwriter delivers honest and upfront tunes with melodic intensity and lyrical wit. Reichelt is currently signed to local Gold Coast independent label 'Human Records' (humanrecords.com.au) and has a tidy selection of film-clips and live shows from local Gold Coast video directors. Included is his latest effort 'Ribcage' which you can see on his website and Youtube page. Now sit down by the fire and hear the tale of how one aspiring musician became an older aspiring musician... it all began in the dregs of 2008. After amassing a score of eclectic songs and programming experiments Reichelt unleashed his debut release in Queensland, Australia and began playing live, solo with an accordion. Experimenting with band members he eventually settled into a rock orchestra of two people. Reichelt toured Australia with this line up. The 3rd album featured members of many local acts and raised the bar with producer/band mate Guy Cooper taking the production reigns. This album took the duo to Japan where they unleashed the songs to an appreciative audience. With an evolving sound and production aesthetic Reichelt surges onwards... Reichelt is currently playing local shows and preparing for the release of his 2014 record. The band will celebrate the release with touring nationally and internationally.
