Audiovisions Entertainment - in association with Gurp City South and The Handlebar, present: "The Back up on the Scene" Tour Hosted by Cesar Comanche okay... here's the story... In 2001, Projekt Lotus released "Circadian Rhythms" against the bistering heat of Ximeno Skatepark. After a decade of mic rock - and bringing some of true-school hip hop's finest, Projekt Lotus ushers in the next phase with a bash like we've never done before! Awhile ago, my homie Foul Mouth Jerk told me he was almost done with his album - that on his album, he'd reunited two legends in the hip hop community. The Artifacts were responsible for putting "backpacker, graffiti, underground" hip hop on the map. They disbanded in the 90's but pursued solo careers and traveled the world. Well - that song - became the lead single from the album. That became a video shoot - which became a couple shows. First billed separately, Tame One & El da Sensei soon decided that it was time. The 2 shows became the launch point of a full-blown reunion tour. They performed at the closing of the Fat Beats store in LA, were featured at this year's SXSW and have been on tour ever since. The "Back up on the Scene" tour comes back around to join us in celebrating our 10th anniversary. Foul Mouth Jerk and partner-in-grime, TOPR are also part of the tour. Foul Mouth Jerk is part of the Asheville live band, Granola Funk Express. They are veterans for sure and old homies. The 1st show we did at the Handlebar was opening for GFE way back in the day... since then, we've shared many a stage. TOPR is a legend in his own right - from San Francisco, he was affiliated with the world-famous graffiti crew, The Lords. He's released several albums and held down his own for years in the battle circuit. Just look him up - watch him serve emcees. Currently, he and Jerk co-host "Worst Case Scenario" - an internet show based out of Asheville - featuring the illest hip hop you've never heard and comedy. The Lonegunmen have been holding down Greenville for as long as we have. This is all family here! A hip hop act not to be missed! Lonegunmen shows are audience inclusive and what hip hop should be - fun! From Charlotte, NC - where sympL cut his teeth, a group came up a in 2008 called Quantum Foundry. Though QF has since disbanded, MC Cataclysm is still going at it. Recently, he's performed with Del the Funky Homosapien, Dead Prez, and Tech n9ne. Last summer, PL's sympL formed the live DNB group, droidmotor with bassist and producer 5ynapse and drummer Bradley Keegan. Grammy-nominated musician Joel McCreight came in to aid in production and slung his guitar for those first few shows. They've also worked with Kelly Ward and Matt Jennings. Mo'ses of Projekt Lotus sat in with Signs of Iris a few months ago for an intimate performance at Horizon Records. That show lead to others - and others. Stay tuned as more develops! Tickets are available pre-sale at The Handlebar $8 in advance $10 at the door $12 - 18-21 Under 18 admitted with an adult.
