Q: How much does your life experience affect your song writing?

A: Quite a bit. They say write what you know. I think when you put your life experiences in your song you feel more of those emotions when listening to a song. We want people to be able to relate to what I'm singing about. I collaborate in writing songs with a couple of great writers and musicians so it's not all my experiences in some of the songs, but I think the message and feelings still come through because I can relate to what they wrote or played.
