Tensions Arise / Press

“Western Sydney Metalers TENSIONS ARISE graced a small, yet eager crowd to open the night. Their unique sound was very hard to pigeon hole them into a particular sound. Kazzy Kage's vocals for instance....One part Dez Fafara (DevilDriver Dez more than Coal Chamber Dez) mixed with a dash of Max Cavalera. TENSIONS ARISE were full of energy & the theatrics by all band members made this short, yet lively set definitely worth the wait in the rain for all those who braved the atrocious conditions. 2016 looks to be their career defining year too, with already supporting Sevendust earlier this year, now they are opening for Fear Factory. Throw in Drowning Pool for good measure in August.....our local boys are doing alright!”

“The local opener of the evening is Tensions Arise. A band completely unknown to me, they had the tough task of trying to warm up the Sydney crowd. I’m not sure if the plan was all along to seal off the upper section tonight or if ticket sales had been poor, but let’s just say that there weren’t many punters out on the floor supporting the local metal scene, which is always a shame. This didn’t deter the guys in Tensions Arise though, they played a solid set filled with groove, energy and they were boasting a very entertaining live show. I can’t quite work out how I feel about K. Kage’s vocals but for some reason they fit the music really well. I can totally see why this band was selected as the local opener, the music might not be the same genre as Fear Factory, but there are definitely similarities and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Tensions Arise gained some new fans tonight, despite the pretty chilly welcome.”

“This Sydney based five piece group had some fun energy and enthusiasm in their performance. A mix of groove, hardcore, and bits of punk all fused in, they had an interesting sound and a fun stage presence as well. Wearing shirts and ties and rocking out on stage, while engaging in some fun banter, these guys put a good start to the night.”

“Hailing from Sydney, the thunderous roar of something new is fast surfacing in the form of local lads done well, TENSIONS ARISE. Since 2008, the band has grown from the garage to the stage, to recording 2 EPs, and hitting the USA. These guys have certainly covered some ground already and have worked hard to create energy they can call their own”

“Tensions Arise is a solid up and coming metal band. If you're looking for old school metal without clean vocals, this would be the band for you. Throw the horns up and listen to Tensions Arise.”

"Although the bands influences may be scattered throughout the metal industry, they come together in fantastic form on ...Sin City. Groove laced tracks with harsh vocals that are raw and in your face combine to increase your blood pressure to levels that would alarm any physician. You'll scream your head off until you taste blood and even then you'll continue to scream. Why? Because it's that good, that's why."
