Tafnaz aka the Acoustic Bad Boy started singing at the tender age of 7. it wasn’t long before he started singing and eventually leading in acapella groups throughout most of his high school years. After high school he moved to Malaysia to further his schooling at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. It was there that he met DJ Philo and Zimbabwean Idol finalist Jonah Sithole and created a band called 'Beat Harmony'. In 2009, Beat Harmony performed at the Heal The World Concert, in front of 8000 people in Malaysia. They went on to win the first ever Inter Uni Music Competition for the MTV World Stage. Throughout his stay in Malaysia, Tafnaz performed regularly at events such as Tiffany Marie Lim's Magic Concert and a lot of other events that involved Limkokwing University.
In 2011, Tafnaz transferred to the Limkokwing campus in Botswana. Its here that he picked up a guitar and hasn’t put it down since. This combined with his natural talent for writing songs, has led Tafnaz to be one of Africa’s most promising R&B artists. His music easily reflects on the kind of music he grew up around and listens to. "I grew up around the likes of R. Kelly, Donnel Jones, Boys II Men, Silk, Usher. Currently I'm listening to Frank Ocean, John Legend and Ne-yo. I'm an R&B and golden oldies fan. I love music with a message " he says.
In Botswana, he has collaborated with several bands on projects. The first, Cottage Beatles with friends Peach (My Star 2012 Finalist) and Tizzle. Him and Tizzle went on to join with electro and dubstep producer Zyon Black to create an all new band called Pseudonym.
Currently Tafnaz is in studio working on a mixtape that is due for release on Valentines day 2013
