To follow up to the hugely successful South Coast Jazz Festival that took place in January, we are putting on two relaxing Saturday afternoon sessions featuring top local jazz performers. Taking place in our large and airy foyer, entry is free, the bar will be open, and delicious food will be served from 6pm. Come and join us for an afternoon of fantastic music and food, the perfect way to spend your summer evening. One of Brighton’s best kept secrets, the Sussex Jazz Orchestra is an exciting 20-piece big band currently conducted by Mark Bassey. A unique mixture of student musicians, experienced professionals, and those with non-musical day jobs, the standard impressively high. Featuring up to seven saxes, six trumpets, and four trombones, plus a rhythm section of piano, guitar, bass and drums, they play a variety of compositions by Tubby Hayes, Thad Jones, Paul Busby, and more.
