CHESTERFEST A wide range of contemporary American musicians, from folk, alt-country and rockabilly to garage, punk and psych-folk bands, are scheduled to perform this summer at Chesterfest, a new Americana music series presented by Chesterwood, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Stockbridge, MA. Chesterfest will kick off on July 19 at 5:30 p.m. with singer-songwriter Dan Blakeslee, who is playing Chesterfest for the first time. Local sponsors of Chesterfest include Cranwell Resort, Kwik Print, Canyon Ranch, Mount Everett, Sweatlands, and Ward’s Nursery. The concerts will be held at Chesterwood on Sunday evenings, July 19 through August 30, rain or shine, under the semi-permanent large tent generously donated by our sponsor, Classical Tents . Artists perform at 5:30 p.m., followed by another at 6:30 p.m. The grounds open at 5 p.m.; attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for lawn seating. Wandering Star Craft Brewery beer, made in the Berkshires, and Lakota-Bar-B-Q, the best barbecue this side of the Mississippi, are available for purchase.

“Worcester's Sunlea is a thinking man's jam band, meaning, well, they are far more than just a Grateful Dead-style act that gets its kicks from slick and unpredictable, yet simple, live performances. Their recorded music is very composed and structured, and even their live performances show an extraordinary amount of artistry and musicianship, incorporating many different elements and influences.”
