Strap On Halo / Press

“The musicianship of the band is a highlight, one of the first things that easily sets Strap On Halo aside from its contemporaries is the voice of Layla Reyna. Her vocal prowess is truly something to behold, the power and slight haunting quality of her voice allow each track to come across as being both strong and beautiful. Sean Rial gives a stellar performance on lead guitar, and while his playing would fit in with any group in the genre's heyday this is not straight fan service; he is extremely talented in his own right. Marc Jones's bass actually makes his bass line a viable part of each and every track, a treat for any fan of that driving thrum hardly found in most bands today.”

“When vocals were beautiful yet dark, guitar was driving yet tasteful, and bass could actually be heard; do you remember gothic rock?”

“There’s something that truly charms about this album. It’s unapologetically Goth. You can hear the influences, Faith and The Muse, Mephisto Walz, Sunshine Blind, but they clearly have their own identity and spin on the material. The vocals of Layla Reyna remind me a bit of Miss Kel from the criminally overlooked Black Ice, but with a touch of Tina Root’s hollering menace. They join bands like Christ vs Warhol in proving the Goth scene hasn’t forgotten what made all this darkness so appealing in the first place.”

“Went to see "STRAP ON HALO" on Tuesday night in Portland Oregon, I had the best time with the band! Layla was Amazing! Her voice has that SOMETHING that only comes around once in awhile..its haunting but seductive, clearly she has a control with her voice that is natural in only some singers! Sean led the band with his guitar and u can tell he feels everything he plays!! Marc had major stage presence with his bass as he paced the stage with a sexiness that comanded watching closer..and i did! hehe If u get a chance to see this Band LIVE do it, if you want to Rock and enjoy a show this is the one to catch this year!”

Jett Away - Wicked Spins Radio

“The hauntingly beautiful and powerful ' I Feel Like Yesterday' from the 'Cherry Flavored Quick Fix' EP is one of those songs that had British DJs known of it, it would have been a regular on many a dark gothic dancefloor over here.”

“Strap On Halo's music harkens to 'traditional gothic' that is driven by howling guitars, resonating bass and a haunting female voice.”

“Founder Sean Rial has been performing with Strap On Halo in some form or another for about 15 years. Once he met lead singer Layla Reyna, new life was breathed into the band (or new death for the über-goth out there).”

“With a name that would make angels blush, Strap On Halo lightens up the stage, with a gothic, ambient sound. Lead singer Layla Reyna haunts you like a dark Stevie Nicks with sultry vocals over electro industrial staying true to the genre’s original form.”
