Acclaimed traditional musicians Colleen Raney, Stuart Mason, John Weed, and Johnny B. Connolly have teamed up to become one of the most exciting new bands on the West Coast. Irish-American singer Colleen Raney has been singing for more than three decades, and has been immersed in America’s Celtic music and dance scene for just as long. She recently appeared at the KVMR Celtic Festival in Grass Valley. Accordionist Johnny B. Connolly was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. His dexterity earned him a place with the Celtic ensemble Anam at the age of seventeen. Now based in Portland, Johnny tours internationally, performing at festivals and concerts. John Weed has lived in Ireland and immersed himself in the traditional styles of Clare and Donegal, resulting in an old-time Irish fiddling style that compliments his forays into bluegrass, swing, and other genres. Stuart Mason has been performing traditional music for over 30 years. He has appeared on stage from Ireland to China performing Celtic, old time bluegrass, and his original compositions, which have won awards from the West Coast Songwriters Association. John and Stuart have also appeared at the KVMR Celtic Festival as part of Molly’s Revenge. Reservations are required. Your entire contribution goes to the artists. Doors open at 7:00pm, music starts at 7:30pm. Call 530/885-4292 or email info@AuburnHouseConcerts.org for reservations and directions.
