Stine Ringås / Bio

Stine Ringås is a vocalist from Norway. Stine writes and performs songs in the style of pop/jazz. Her smooth voice comes together with her steady band creating a poppy soulful atmosphere. Taking inspiration from artists like Norah Jones, Esperanza Spalding and Gretchen Parlato, Stine creates pop well mixed with the traditions of jazz.

Growing up Stine spent most of her time at her grandparents house where they would sing, dance and play instruments all day. This is where she first found her passion for music.

Stine started training as a classical singer at a young age, but was invited to change genre at the age of 16 and was introduced to the world of jazz. Around the same time, her grandparents fell ill and pass away. This was defining for Stine, who then decided to push herself even further in music in their honour.

Since her first encounter with jazz, she has developed her skills through the bachelor programme of jazz performance at the University of Stavanger, and a masters in Music Performance in London where she's worked within pop, jazz and soul.

The past year has been spent working in the studio leading to the release of her first single, Start Again in February, and an EP later this year.
