    We are happy to feature GDP, Squala Orphan & DJ Toshi on our July 30 showcase at Middle East Upstairs. They will be joined by June showcase winner, Ambro. The hip-hop showcase & open mic, hosted by Latrell James, allows aspiring MC’s to perform for a chance to win $100 cash prize in addition to two hours of free recording time at The Bridge Sound & Stage and a showcase slot on the next month's event. Open mic sign up starts at 8PM sharp and is 'first come first served.' The list fills up quickly so make sure to get there early! ** NO REFUNDS ** Submissions are live for the producer showcase!     On 4/24 through 4/26 people around the globe will celebrate the 60th birthday of political prisoner MUMIA ABU-JAMAL while demanding his freedom. In NYC at Riverside Church on Thursday the 24th from 6:30 - 9:30 pm, many celebrated speakers and artists will make some very revolutionary statements in the face of this ongoing struggle for justice. The list of speakers has not yet been finalized but the live music will include the Liberation Jazz of THE RED MICROPHONE -8PM, and several noted radical Hip Hop artists SQUALA ORPHAN the LC POET at 8:15. INTIKANA at 8:45, and of course REBEL DIAZ at 9pm. And the show ends with a big jam session of all performers. Mumia himself is expected to call in to speak to us all at 7:30. Please join us to make a statement about this activist who has been wrongly imprisoned for decades.
