Spike McGuire and John Underwood from Six Mile Station will be visiting DLC Gallery Thursday, August 20th to share some solo tunes from each of their collections of songs they've written, as well as, they plan to play a few Six Mile Station tunes to satisfy the Elko fan base that hasn't gotten to see them lately! John Underwood is a multi-instrumentalist solo artist from Reno, NV with an unusual setup. He's placed six instruments around him all running into a loop pedal, so he can create a full folk band sound live in front of the audience with banjo, acoustic guitar, trumpet, trombone, bass, and an acoustic style drum setup with cajon, washboard and some cymbals. His music has spawned out of the ashes of his folk-pirate-gypsy band The Deadly Gallows, and the influences of his current folk-gypsy projects Six Mile Station and Dirty Kid Discount. A lot of people claim to be a one man band, but John will show you in one set how to put together all the pieces for such a thing, and what that full band would sound like. http://facebook.com/banjohnunderwood https://youtu.be/EXVC7tFebwI Spike McGuire has been a notable member of the folk scene since 2008 when he made his debut at the Chicago Peace and Freedom Festival.
