Santee / Press

“I wasn’t past the opening guitar riff of Nothing Ever Works, before I knew I was listening to something special. Actually, that’s not even true, I was less than ten seconds into their kickstarter video (the song was Woolf I would later learn) when I knew I was listening to something really special. It’s a rare experience to hear just a hand full of notes or measured beats and know with conviction, that you are hearing something truly incredible. Santee never disappoints. -”

““Yes, I get to hear more from this group. I seriously want to download their music. I just love the vocals in the song. This song is empowering. The melody is awesome. This song is powerful and I just love the way she sings it. Lyrics are meaningful and she could sing any lyrics and make them important. I am so attracted to her voice. Love the harmony too, nice comliment in vocals. Solid beat and the tempo is just quick enough to give this a good flow of energy. I like this song even more than the others and think it has some good commcercial appeal.””

““What a wonderful way t o express your feelings for a specific person in such a great relationship. This song is so touching I bet whoever she is singing to is heart broken . I couldn 't hold back the tears whenever hearing this song i t is so sad. I feel like she is singing it to me. The rhyt hm is slow and sad but kind of upbeat . ””

““Guitar at the beginning of this song made it an interesting intro. It was a bonus that this track had a fast beat to it because it really blended in with the instruments and the artists singing voice. Speaking of her voice I was pleasantly surprised because she can sing exceptionally well and I think her singing voice takes this song to the TOP. Its got a HUGE chance of being a hit because of her and the lyrics. I think these lyrics are a big part of the song and they show a lot of qualit y. Its a tremendous song , should be a hit because the melody is sweet too. ””

“Cute pop riff with a catchy 80's feel to it . I can definitely see this so easily on a movie sound track for a flash back or retro film. The singer's voice has that raspy sexy, nowadays RARE quality that separates the musicians from the mere "singers " in the industry. Where's the Music Video!!!!”

““This is a great song. The performance overall was nicely executed! It has a nice intro that sets up a great beat for the entire song. I love the artist's voice. This is nice to dance to. I would love to hear more from this particular artist. In terms of the vocal melody, I would definitely give this a very high ranking as well. The singer has a very distinctive voice which adds to her uniqueness. She also has a rich tone to her voice. She sings very expressively and clearly as well. This is a catchy and memorable song that I think is capable of hitting the top of the charts. The track itself has a smooth flow and the instrumental accompaniment is balanced and full.””

Crowd Review - Reverbnation

“Santee is amazingly consistent, there never seems to be a moment that their sound isn’t rising to the occasion. Live on stage, in their practice space, or in the studio, Santee is equally compelling. It was a disappointment that the crowd at Conor Byrne wasn’t bigger, a band with as much talent, energy, and established quality as Santee deserves a packed house. No disrespect to the other bands that played Thursday, but when Santee came out, there was a shift in the bars stale air; this band was different, this band was better. - See more at: http://www.secretly-important.com/santee-conor-byrne-pub-noise-for-the-needy/#sthash.NEtKJCWw.dpuf”
