Six and I went to check out The Twisted Tail (and to see and hear Meghan Cary's band) last week, and it's more than nice. Right off Head House Square, it's a beautiful room, actually 2 rooms, spacious, newly refurbished, with bar and tables, and a well-thought- out menu of bar- and late-night food. They have music 6 nights a week, mostly blues. They are branching out a little bit by asking the Philadelphia Folk Song Society Coop to offer a few bands with alternate styles, like the bluegrass–informed stuff you will hear from this version of Valley Creek, which will include Six, Gus, Ed Kramer, The Dave, and Chris Gately. If you can make it out on a Thursday to help us put the Twisted Tail on people's radar, we can promise you many musical surprises. Ok it's a haul, but how often do you get into the city anymore? Here's an excuse. Hope to see you.
