I will playing for this awesome celebration. Below are the details...
YES! 30 is finally here! Won't you help me celebrate Black Rock style?
This is a big deal, folks. But it isn't because I am turning 30. Seriously, this event is only a big deal because it will benefit the Friends of the Black Rock/High Rock, a local awesome and small non-profit that stewards some of your (and my!) FAVORITE public lands in the country.
Beer!! Music by folk singer Mel Wade!! Super yummy food!! Guest group performance!! DJs!! And an opportunity to appreciate some of the BIGGEST and most impressive public lands in ways that you never thought possible.
Attire: Beyond the whiteout! If you have camped on the Black Rock, you know it is famous for its dusty whiteouts. So wear whatever you would wear if you were stuck in a dust storm- playa gear, goggles, fur, etc. But if you have camped in the High Rock area, then you'll come wearing anything WHITE (since you always want to reflect the sun), or your best outfitter/camping clothes (Hello rock climbers! I expect you to come sans shirt!).
Donation request: $1 for every year I have been alive. Or whatever meaningful gift you can afford! Besides the awesomeness of the evening, with every donation of $10 and up you ALSO get a one year membership to Friends of the Black Rock/High Rock. Stickers ($10-29 giving level) and patches ($30+, includes sticker) will be gifted to you as well. Rad, right? :-)
Check out www.blackrockdesert.org for more info about the Friends of the Black Rock/High Rock. I have been a volunteer board member for the organization for almost one year, and I would be so honored if you would help me support it.
Can't make the party? You can still donate online! www.blackrockdesert.org/donate
