ELLEN ONCE AGAIN - www.facebook.com/ellenonceagain
Ellen Once Again is a singer/songwriter and musician from Texas. Her blend of soul, folk and pop vocals blend effortlessly to make a sound that is vintage without sounding dated. Known for her soulful heartfelt singing, positive lyrics, beautiful personality and infectious smile Ellen is inspired by Lauryn Hill, Sara Bareilles, Adele, Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae & Stevie Wonder but maintains her own "quirky" musical identity. Though she has been a musician since the age of 12—playing in church and the occasional gigs—Ellen has finally decided to pursue a career in music. “It describes who I am,” she says describing the meaning behind her stage name. “I feel like I’ve been doing other stuff but I’ve always come back to music because this is really what I want to do.” True to her word, Ellen spends the majority of her time writing, recording and teaching music.
MARY WALKER - www.facebook.com/marywalkermusic
Singer-songwriter Mary Walker captures the sweeter notes of a musical life born and bred in North Texas. Her debut album, Heavy Hearts, balances the intellect of Denton’s focused musicianship with the accessibility of cheeky pop. Whether perched at the piano or behind her guitar, Mary’s flirty vocals beckon in a playful manner reminiscent of Regina Spektor; lyrics ever deepening as they swirl through the psyche of a charming old soul turning 21 all over again.
MIKAELA KAHN - www.facebook.com/mikaelakahnmusic
Mikaela is a soulful singer-songwriter who hails from the ever gray Pacific Northwest. Just as she is comforted by the constant sound of rain, Mikaela soothes listeners with her clear, warm, resounding voice. She was raised listening to strong women artists like Eva Cassidy, Paula Cole, and Aaliyah, and has always identified with gutsy R&B singers. A creative spirit, Mikaela penned short poems and stories throughout her youth. When she began songwriting in high school, she dug into these influences and developed her own mature sound, mixing the rhythmic characteristics of Jason Mraz with the effortless pop vocals of Sara Bareillas, and provocative jazz sensibilities. Mikaela is well versed in all genres of music (from motown to bluegrass) and opened for Manhattan Transfer and Jon Hendricks at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC (with UNT Jazz Singers and Afro Blue from NBC's "The Sing-Off"). She is also a member of pop artist Ben Folds' Symphony Choir and was just named a Finalist in the prestigious 2012 Grassy Hill Kerrville Folk Competition for Emerging Songwriters.
