This year’s TMAs: Too Much Action Weekend will help raise awareness of The Melodie R. Smoots Group, for kids that lost a parent. The MRS Group will help provide funds to go towards fieldtrips, counseling and open forms of creative expression.
The Traffic Music Awards is St. Louis’ very own Grammys & American Music Awards – classy and exquisite like the Emmy‟s & Oscar‟s – with the energy and spontaneity of the BET & MTV Awards, and with the “swagger” that only St. Louis can bring.
The Too Much Action weekend consist of 3 Days & 5 Events: Fri. Mar. 1st – Sun. Mar. 3rd 2013
Fri - The Traffic Media Affair * Sat - Community Wellness Fair * Sat - Listening Session *
Sat - Soooo! St. Louis Hair & Fashion Show * Sun - The Traffic Music Awards *
The TMAs will give two deserving home grown heroes honorary awards. The Humanitarian Award goes to Judge Jimmy Edwards & The Dr. Jockenstein Legend Award goes to DJ KUT.

In past years, we were graced by the presence of such national & local celebrities Chingy, Hip Hop Legend Dana Dane, P-Dub, NFL Star Lawrence Maroney, Comptroller of the City of St. Louis Darlene Green, nightclub owners Drexel Stith and Noland Ferguson, radio moguls Craig Blac and Dwight Stone, and Universal Records’ UnladyLike. Others in attendance were representatives from Anheuser Busch, The St. Louis American, Grand Maria Golf Course, Radio-One, The Riverfront Times, Exquisite Fashions, The St. Louis Post dispatch, and many, many more! This year will be bigger and better than ever; with 43 categories, an elite music conference, a hair/fashion show, health fair, and a variety of local and national performers, this will be a sold out event. The 2013 TMAs is guaranteed to be “So St. Louis!”
Tony J! Johnson a.k.a. The Traffic Man…..
Tony J!, the grey goose rising icon, former stand-up comic and radio broadcast teacher, is in his 16th year in radio. His focus, determination, and somewhat idealistic approach and attitude contribute to his success (and at times, failures.) The Traffic Man has been a proud
St. Louisan since his car broke down on Kingshighway & Delmar in the summer of ’94. Fortunately Tony’s optimism and go-get-it attitude has taken him to unforeseeable heights. His impressive career as a traffic reporter/on-air personality and The Traffic Music Awards are examples of such accomplishments.
