A Christmas show from "Prairie Home Companion" favorites Robin and Linda Williams will be like walking into the coziest home in the mountains, filled with the smell of evergreens and fresh-baked gingerbread, bright ribbons and smiles, and the promise of snow before morning.
This Staunton, Va. couple has crisscrossed the continent (and beyond) for nearly four decades, performing the tunes they love -- a hearty blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country, with rich harmonies and stellar songwriting. They've played The Grand Ole Opry, Austin City Limits, Music City Tonight, Mountain Stage... clubs, festivals and countless other venues... and they're beloved by listeners of Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" on public radio.
Robin and Linda are utterly unpretentious and jaw-droppingly talented. Along with the members of the band, Their Fine Group -- Jim Watson on bass and mandolin and fiddle/mandolin player Chris Brashear -- they'll make you feel right at home, and their music will stay with you like an old friend.
