DESCRIPTION:Price: $10\nAge Limit: All Ages\n\nDetails: Brooklyn Folk Festival, running three days!\nDown Home Radio host Eli Smith (Featured in Village Voice's "Best of New York 2008) is proud to announce the 1st annual Brooklyn Folk Festival, to be held at the Jalopy Theater in Brooklyn, NY – Friday, May 15th thru Sunday, May 17th, 2009.  The festival will feature the best young talent from Brooklyn’s exploding folk music scene as well as luminaries from the generation that made the 1960’s folk music revival.  The music featured will include traditional styles such as old-time string band music, blues, jug band music, traditional music of Mexico and West Africa, local songwriters and more!  There will be concerts in the evening and workshops on various musical styles and subjects in the afternoons as well as an ongoing jam session out back!
