PROGFEST is a celebration of musicians creating progressive music.
Featuring bands of all styles and genres, from prog, post, psychedelic, art rock & metal and everything in between, PROGFEST is about showcasing artists who have decided to challenge themselves musically and create music with depth and vision.
After attracting a crowd of close to 1000 people at the Melbourne event in 2011, PROGFEST returns to the Espy on Saturday September 8 featuring two incredible headliners:
After three years together, 157 blistering live shows, 11 festival appearances and a stack of sold-out headlining gigs, alternative progressive rock maestros JERICCO are gearing up to offer their adoring fan base a taste of things to come with their new single ‘Dance Like No One Is Watching’; set to be released on September 7 just in time for their headlining performance at this years Progfest Melbourne!
Australia’s progressive/extreme metallers NE OBLIVISCARIS have, after many years of delays and setbacks, finally hit their stride upon the release of their critically acclaimed album ‘Portal Of I’ in May this year. Their Australian album launch tour mid year saw them play to packed venues all across the country, and they’ve since stepped it up further gracing a magazine cover in Europe, getting their own video game song level on ‘Rock Band’, stacking up endless rave reviews from every corner of the earth, and preparing for an all out assault of the international metal scene.
Joining our headliners we have some incredible interstate bands such as art/ochestral rock band The Red Paintings (QLD), Chaos Divine (WA) & Quiet Child (SA) & a host of Melbourne progressive bands of all styles and genres from the Djent of Circles, the prog/heavy rock of Branch Arterial or Glass Empire, the lush instrumental sounds of Mushroom Giant and This Is Your Captain Speaking or the progressive metal of Okera & Teramaze.
PROGFEST is one event not to be missed by any open-minded music fan!
