Annabelle’s Curse has been a blessing to music lovers in the band’s home of Bristol, Virginia. Their emotive, post-folk songs sweep from intimate whisper to anthem-like choruses, placing them in a category of bands like Mumford and Sons and The Decemberists that are testing the boundaries of modern Americana.
The soulful voice of lead singer Jamen Denton has established Wise Old River as one of the South’s most enjoyable acoustic roots rock bands for nearly a decade. The Damascus, Virginia, group has built a solid reputation through many festival performances and an appearances on the PBS program “Song of the Mountains” filmed in Marion, Virginia.
Both bands will perform at the 2012 Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion music festival in September.
