SO GET THERE EARLY SO WE CAN HANG OUT!!!\n \n"FREE" Benefit Rock Concert Presented by Tampa Bay Times\n \nDescription\n \nA "FREE" Rock Concert at the beautiful Sims Park Amphitheater in dowtown New Port Richey. This event is to benefit The Center for Independence (nonprofit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities for nearly 50 years, and with the latest round of budget cuts they are in desperate need of additional funding). With help from the Wounded Warriors Project and various other Veterans Organizations, The Center will split the proceeds with a local injured serviceman. The event spans an entire 12 hour day, with 7 bands donating their time for this GREAT CAUSE. A silent auction with great baskets donated from various companies across the country, face painting, food, drinks, etc...\n \nIn 2011, The Center teamed up with The Justin Gaertner Fund, to help raise much needed funds for the former graduate from J.W. Mitchell High School, recently injured in Afghanistan. The concert was filled with some of the Tampa Bay area's premier homegrown talent. The lineup included Mitchell High Grads Cyrenia, S.N.A.P.M., Sunshine & Bullets, finalists for 97x Backyard BBQ Anchor Atlantic, RJ Howson, Natural Blend, ending with headliner THE GARY SCHUTT BAND. We can't leave out our beautiful MC, the woman that made Hooters marketable and became the original face of the franchise, Lynn Austin.
