Falla Guitar Trio: Adam del Monte, Gyan Riley & Kenton Youngstrom, guitar
A unique East L.A. hacienda-restaurant-gallery welcomes a brilliant guitar trio – “resourceful virtuosos as well as versatile and musicianly performers.” (Los Angeles Times) – in a Spanish-flavored program. Along the walls of Tamayo’s palazzo-like grand main dining room, with its sky-high beamed ceilings, fountains, tile floors and intricate wrought iron balcony, are resplendent pieces by its eponymous artist Rufino Tamayo. Surrounded by this stunning art and architecture, you will be entranced by the Falla Guitar Trio’s performances of music by its namesake Manuel de Falla (excerpts from El Amor Brujo) and Albéniz (El Albacin), along with Flamenco-infused Jazz compositions by each of the trio's members. “These three remarkable artists communicate musically with the finesse and vitality of a seasoned chamber ensemble” (Stereo Review). What would a return to Tamayo be without a festive community dinner following the concert! Details about the dinner (separate purchase), with Tamayo specialties, announced in January.
This concert is sponsored by Eric & Nancy Garen.
