As part of Bucktown’s Final Friday, film maker and composer Kristian Day of Des Moines, Iowa will be installing his Black Room Soundtrack into one of the rooms at Bucktown Center for the Arts on October 28th, 2011.
Visitors will enter a pitch black room that will have three sound generators that will be playing Day’s custom made sound and music and will be switching tracks at random. This will give each visitor a different expe…rience from one another.
There will also be a merchandise table outside of the room with CDs, DVDs, and film prints for sale. Kristian Day’s short films will also be playing on a loop outside of the room.
Kristian Day, along with artist Brent Houzenga, visited Bucktown last February to screen his film Hybrid Pioneer. Day, originally from Rock Island, IL, attended the University of Colorado majoring in music. He has made a career as both an original composer and film maker. His current film, Capone’s Whiskey: The Story of Templeton Rye is set to premiere this fall.
Kristian Day’s selected works include: 100 Tears (film soundtrack), AM I EVIL (film soundtrack), Mutilation Mile (film soundtrack), Ambient Martyr: Selected Works of Kristian Day (Digital Album), and Dub In Deep (CD & Digital Album).
