George Strait joins lineup for fire relief
More tickets to Oct. 17 event go on sale Wednesday
AUSTIN (KXAN) - Country star George Strait will join lineup of "Fire Relief: The Concert for Central Texas," event organizers announced Tuesday.
The show starts at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Frank Erwin Center. More tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Texas Box Office outlets including select H-E-B stores, Ft. Hood ITR and Renaissance Records in Killeen will have tickets available.
Wildfire historical record in the works
Strait will join a cast that includes the Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Asleep at the Wheel, Eric Johnson, Steve Miller, Joe Satriani, Christopher Cross, Shawn Colvin and the Court Yard Hounds, the Texas Tornados, Randy Rogers and Terri Hendrix.
The Concert for Central Texas to help raise money for victims of the devastating wildfires this summer. Emcees for the evening will include Emmy-winning actor Kyle Chandler and Turk Pipkin, an Austin activist.
