Howl is a four-piece furious, bone-crushing, head-splitting doom metal band from Providence.
Worms in Women and Cattle
"Another band that I discovered, fell in love with, then promptly forgot about until some random event brought ‘em back onto my radar. Worms in Women and Cattle are pure blackened hellnoise – just listen to their recordings, and let the shivers creep down your spine. Interestingly, the recordings seem to point straight towards doomy black metal, with a hefty dose of demonic distortion and noise, but in the live setting, WIWAC are far quicker to the punch, swerving closer to blackened, crusty hardcore. Vocalist Pippi is an absolute terror, screaming bloody gore like a woman possessed, stalking the length of the venue, rolling around on the floor like a wounded animal, and violently crashing into any audience member within range. “Intense” doesn’t do her justice, and the band themselves couldn’t have sounded filthier if they’d caked their instruments in mud and dried goat semen before they hit the stage." - MetalSucks.net
Sea of Bones
Started in early 2005 by three friends who have known each other for a long time. It is a dark, angry, contemplative mix of sound and emotion. “A dissonant psychedelic wall of sound”. We have drawn comparisons to Neurosis, Swans, Buried at Sea, Pelican and Mastodon.
“Sea of Bones’ atmospheric sludge is even bleaker than Neurosis'. The only color is shades of black. Ultra-heavy riffs rumble below distant smears of feedback. The sound is super fuzzed out, with buried vocals and occasional textural breathers.” - Cosmo Lee (Decibel Magazine)
