The notorious monthly gig/jam nights at the Port Mahon, organised by Dave Seck, Oli Whitworth and Evan McGregor. Like a straightforward gig night, except one that descends into "Whose Line Is It Anyway"-style shenanigans towards the end.
Kicking off will be TRUST FUND aka Ellis, who has been charming open-mic nights around Oxfordshire with his acoustic ditties. Then French artist Fabien from band LAZARE, doing a semi-acoustic set, maybe with bandmates Dave Seck and Oli Whitworth involved. LAZARE's music could be described as "an emotional journey, a trip in between dreams and reality". Check out this video to song "Red Empire": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jrdtluNHMHE
He's only in the UK for one week, so DON'T MISS OUT.
Doors... open around 7.15, with music starting shortly after, and if you want to take part in the jam session, please ARRIVE PROMPTLY to get your name on the list, and to support the live acts. (It's simple: the later you arrive, the later you'll end up joining in). Amps, drum-kit, guitar, bass & keyboard provided, but other instruments are encouraged if you have them! Oh, and if you fancy improvising vocals, that'd also be cool! Emphasis isn't on virtuosity, more on good humour and taking part. Well, you'll get the idea.
Jam session after the live sets. Downstairs bar open after the music stops.
£4 entry/£2 jammers.
IF YOU'VE BEEN BEFORE AND ENJOYED YOURSELF, PLEASE INVITE MORE PEOPLE - AND SUGGEST OUR PAGE TO YOUR MATES... THANKS!
