The small floating club festival  hosted by corn punk kings the Hickoids is now in its thirteenth year, having been held at a variety of Austin venues since its inception, aside from a two-day livestream event broadcast  in a pandemic-stricken 2020 from an outdoor stage on the edge of Austin in front of a limited audience. Over the years the festival has played host to artists including Wreckless Eric, Old 97s, David Yow, and The Upper Crust (to name just a few) alongside Austin and Texas-based acts associated with the Saustex Record label. The festival is staged entirely without sponsorships but strives to present an affordable experience in friendly locales that are an alternative to the behemoth festival that shares the same acronym that's taking place at the same time.\nSaturday October 8th/Night Two - Sagebrush Austin\n5500 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78745\nSaturday's show will be headlined by Churchwood on the heels of their new album '6: The Boule Oui' which sees its release just the day before. As the title hints one of Austin's greatest live acts take a detour through bayou country on the new album and it will be exciting to see them in their first public appearance in almost three years. Also on this night featuring continuous music on alternating stages - Cuntry Killers a new all-fem revenge country act that is generating early buzz and love. Mekon Jon Langford performs under the moniker The Return of Buck Hogarth in one of his many iterations with an all-star Austin cast. Shandon Sahm (son of Texas music hero Doug Sahm and one time drummer for Meat Puppets) fresh from Amsterdam with his Texas band will perform tunes from his father's long and legendary career. From Houston come Jane Woe, an alt-country band that cleverly disguises sexual politic behind a girlish voice and the soaring pedal steel licks of Scott Ayers (Pain Teens, Frog Hair.) Gates, Roach and Le Coz reunites former hair metal cum grunge bandmates Chris Gates and David Roach from Junkyard playing alongside Austin's favorite Frenchman Thierry Le Coz, a storied individual in his own right having fronted his own band back in Paris as a teen, and developing a reputation as a trusted sideman to many including Alejandro Escovedo, Rich Minus and others along the way.  Frontier Dan joins the Hickoids as the band rolls out some new covers for an upcoming project titled 'Shady Ladies', Harvey McLaughlin and his large band show the adults how to rock AND roll old-school, SF and NY punker turned early alt-country adopter Jean Caffeine shares her journey in song, Becca Najera fronts And They're Deadly's muscular roots rock and first time Corn Lovers W. Witosky and the D3E will take up the streetgrass slack with earthy selections from their recent album 'Earn Your Wings.'\n
