The Bad Things sprang fourth from the Georgetown neighborhood of South Seattle in 2002. Brandishing accordions, banjos, pots, pans and musical saws, they wreaked havoc on Seattle’s sidewalks, cabarets, dive bars and warehouses. In 2007 the band began opening for national headliners, playing larger venues and festivals and generally riding the “gypsy punk” and “steampunk” waves of the next couple years. In 2010, they began collaborating and recording with Chumbawamba co-founder Danbert Nobacon. Their sound expanded as well, including more Americana elements. In 2020, The Bad Things are a lean, mean four-piece apocalyptic-polka machine. Guaranteed to get a room drinking, dancing and singing as they explore their 18 year history of blasphemous ballads, world-weary waltzes and blazing, drunken rave ups. You have been warned.
