The first Friday of every month The Art House Cafe is bringing you the sweet and spellbinding sounds of Fliss with a rotating opening act.  \nFriday, September 6, 2019 we have: \n\n8:30pm - Amanda Cottreau\n\n9:30pm - Fliss\n\n$12 tickets at the door*\n\nFliss is a solo project by Felicity DeCarle of Ottawa band Sparklesaurus.\n\nWhile Sparklesaurus is adorned by synths, sparkles, and hard-hitting rhythms, Fliss strips it all back to its core – where her spell bounding lyrics and melodies are raw and exposed. DeCarle’s songwriting is mature and measured – never does it dip into self-indulgence or musical extraneity. She is a master of analogy and concentric wordplay, and her songs often delve into the darkest depths of humanity, but always with a gentle undercurrent of sweetness and optimism. Her music is oddly intoxicating, her voice honest and lilting, drawing the listener into each song and into themselves.
