Lift Kids Inc., a Minnesota based non-profit, has partnered with the Minnesota Timberwolves/Lynx to hold a day-long cultural event featuring the Native American and immigrant communities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, greater Minnesota, and the Upper Midwest. The day will include: Far East Movement (from Los Angeles - recently signed to Cherrytree Records); Gamblerz (2009 break-dance champions from South Korea); Maureen Santiago; local artists and students; United We Dance - largest break-dance competition ever to be held in Midwest; Minnesota Lynx vs Tulsa WNBA game at 6:00pm; creative art workshops for all ages; Village Summit - Lift Kids village and project leaders from around the world will present action and status reports to specific global problems and conditions. These events will be held throughout the day on the arena main floor, concourse, and upper level hospitality/conference rooms Lift Kids United World Campaign, a cultural conference to engage and enlighten, derives its theme from Mahatma Gandhi words, "You must be the change you want to see in the world." We are reaching out to others to offer their personal vision and commitment to such change through live appearance, video clip, or written word and extend an open invitation to all to become so engaged.
