Living in South East London, Jane describes Greenwich as one of the most wonderful places in the world, She will be reading her poem ‘Greenwich Time’ for Talking Rhythm, which was long listed in the National Poetry Competition. Her love of Greenwich makes her a member of Greenwich Poetry Workshop along with Meantime Poets Stanza, which she helps co-ordinate.\n\nA lifelong writing addict, as well as her many poems, Jane has published no less than eleven short stories, and a ‘crossover’ novella about a cat in an Anglo-Saxon monastery.\n\nWendy French writes of ‘Lockdown”: (it) ‘travels with the oppressed…the under-dogs, those in exile…(yet) the language and situations are carefully orchestrated to uplift the reader into a realm where life might be very different... We can live in and learn from these poems,… (which) tell a collective story of what it is to be human.’\n’\nAnd Katherine Gallagher notes ‘images and narrative in tightly-wrought sequences and lyrical pieces that are poignant and often surprising.’\n\nJane predicts that for March’s Talking Rhythm there will be some poems about the struggle with a fractured society, but also some fun and fantasy.\n\nOur MAIN MUSIC GUEST will be BLACK DOG HAT comprised of JOHN SAGE in collaboration with a bassist on this occasion. An Indie Chart soaring, prolific singer-songwriter and guitarist from London, John creates and performs musical interpretations of everyday life and love. In his own words: it’s a bit folky, a bit funky…a bit... something, but most of all the songs will stick in your head.\n\nhttp://www.blackdoghat.com/\n\nYour poems and songs are welcome at the OPEN MIC.
