Askultura is a rumba + punk rock + ska band from the sunny & silicon-minted shores of Miami, Florida. All 9 members, all of them, always look like they're frowning regardless of how happy they are on the inside and are wondering if there is facial reconstructive surgery that can fix that.
It could be because our mother had fetal alcohol syndrome and our father practiced Judo on her stomach. (Thanks Lil Yimmy Norton).
On June 12, 2014 we, the aforementioned Askultura, released our 3rd cd in 4.352 years, do the math. This last one is called I.N.F.E.R.N.O. and it's stacked with futbol hooligan songs, rephrasings of Aesops fables, and ska punk anthems for immigrants, zen buddhists, blues enthusiasts, and illuminated stoners.
We are 9 handsome devils globally-sourced ie some circumsized, others not. There are Incans demigods aka Peruvians, lasagna-slammers aka Italians, French frogs, hardline Cubanos, raging Dominicanos, super-sized Americanos, Okies, and Ohioans. We roll around in a big-ass yellow 40ft school bus with a desire to tour 24/7/365/3.14/666. The show gets crazy and it's probably better than your bands show.
Mission Statement: To spread the party gospel of energia positiva & symphonic rumba punk elements of Askultura to all curves of the galaxy. To exercise the spirit of the streets on stage. To hang with good people in every town around. To incite moments of brief rebellion.
We have a website that also serves as an online forum for rock n roll tranny swingers. You can only gain access to that section if you know where the secret portal is so it's kid-safe. www.askultura.com
About the next cd I.N.F.E.R.N.O. (June 12, 2014): 9 musicians known for their wild performances. A football (soccer for some) anthem, a ska track for immigrant skins, a thundering interpretation of Aesop's Icarus tale, a blues song about whooping ass, and a full-band version of an old crowd-favorite.
