"Students for Fair Trade at The Ohio State University and Global Gallery present Cooperative Columbus: The Fair Trade Fest, an educational and celebratory event to think about how our Columbus community is part of a cooperative economy, both locally and globally.
The day will kick off at 10 am with a farmers market to highlight local farmers in our community. Be sure to come out and get a sneak peek of what is to come at the Clintonville Farmer's Market this spring and summer!
The event will feature various speakers, workshops, performances, local food, and cooperative art projects. Speakers thought out the day will include Natalie Yoon, national organizer for United Students for Fair Trade national organizer, lead organizer Ruben Herrera from Ohio Fair Food, as well as talks by representatives from the Clintonville Community Market, Women Crafting Change, and Patty Cake Bakery.
Women Crafting Change will be leading a crafting workshop through the day, with opportunity for all in attendance to participate in creating a in a cooperative art mural!
Local music will be on the main storage throughout the day, as well, including performances by The Savory Chickens, Sacred Shimmy, The Castros, and Bohemian Highway Folk!
Locally grown food from Global Gallery's Kitchen will be served all day, as well as latin fusion food from the Cilantro Food Truck!
We will be starting the weekend with a cocktail party and fashion show on Friday! Come out to the Ethical Arts Collective, located at 566 West Rich Street, Columbus Ohio 43215 for drinks and a look at fair trade fashion.
