DESCRIPTION:Age Limit: All Ages\n\nDetails: Guitarist Paul Bowman presents an evening of contemporary guitar repertoire at Harold Golen Gallery.\nConcert organizer: FETA Foundation\n\nPaul Bowman was trained at the Manhattan School of Music in classical guitar with the triumvirate Faculty at the time of Sharon Isbin, Manuel Barrueco and Carlos Barbosa-Lima. He also immersed himself in the New York Uptown New Music scene, playing with such ensembles as The Group for Contemporary Music, The New Music Consort, Ensemble Sospeso. Recent endeavors include a D.M.A. in Contemporary Performance from U.C. San Diego; extensive performing and recording with flutist Harvey Sollberger and new solo works by upcoming composers Derek Holden, Greg Robin, Nicholas Deyoe, and Aaron Gervais, as well as the more established composers such as Jeff Nichols, Harvey Sollberger, Yehuda Yannay and Ursula Mamlok, to name a few. He was First Prize Winner at the VI International Classical Guitar Competition, "Casa d'España" in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a top prize winner at the Guitar Foundation of America Competition. Paul lives in the rural mountains of western North Carolina in his custom-built "A" frame house on 4 acres, and assists his wife Annamaria in running a chicken sanctuary and rescue.\nwww.paul-classicalguitarist.com
