With her brand of hauntingly beautiful folk, Amanda elevates sadness to triumph and desolation to celebration. Her music is introspective, comforting, delicate and captivating. Voicing everything from dixieland jazz improv to alternative rock ballads to heart-baring original compositions, Cottreau knows how to deliver. In the last four years, this independent songstress has released a solo EP, placed music on national television and played over 200 shows between Ontario and Nova Scotia.\nwww.amandacottreau.com\n\nJOSEF MIETO - 9PM\nJosef has been performing regularly as a solo act in the Ottawa area and Montreal since 2010. Josef headlined over 100 shows and festivals in 2012 which included memorable events at Ottawa's legendary Rainbow Bistro & Elmdale Tavern. As a performer Josef leans heavily on the lyrical impact of the music. Taking notes from artists like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Nick Drake. Josef has this uncanny ability to silence an entire room from the moment the first words of a song are sung until the last. Josef also admits to spending over a year crafting the lyrics to some of his songs. He says "When you take it (the song) that far with you, for that long; the end result is something so complex and beautiful. It ends - just as naturally as it begins and you just know it's finished".
