Homegrown triple bill celebrates Greenville pop, rock, blues, Americana talent0
One of ‘em’s coming home, one of ‘em’s leaving for exotic lands, and one’s playing a hometown show, a buffet of pop, rock, blues and Americana. Singer/songwriter Mark Webb kicks things off with Americana-tinged rock that has earned him opening slots for Justin Townes Earle and Truth & Salvage Co., among others. Next up, Greenville’s Matt Holmes has a new band you’ll hear more about, Youth Model, celebrating their critically acclaimed debut CD, “All New Scars.” “It’s hard to imagine a modern radio station that would pass up on the pop gems” on the album, SC Music Guide says. “Holmes has created a pretty amazing-sounding record,” with a synth-pop sound of the ’80s mixed with an alt-pop feel of artists like Mathew Sweet. Capping off the night is Taylor Moore, the guitar slinger who’s heading off to Thailand. But before he goes, he finishes off this big show with his greasy, funky rock-blues. And all for only $5, a true holiday treat. (As always, click on the links below for their music.)
