Ticketed guests should arrive by 1 p.m., when the Irish-themed festivities are set to begin. Among the activities, a genealogy expert will be on hand for those interested in researching their Irish heritage. After an hour of music and dancing, guests will board the Shamrock Express Dinner Train at 2:30 pm. Musical entertainment will continue on the train.
Aboard the 1940s dining car, guests will be treated to a meal, served while the train travels through the scenic and historic Rolling Fork River valley.
Located just south of Louisville in New Haven, Kentucky, the Kentucky Railway Museum is a non-profit museum dedicated to educating the public about the history and heritage of Kentucky's railroads and the people who built them.
The museum features a collection of railroad artifacts and memorabilia, housed in a replica of the original New Haven depot. Exhibits include four steam and six diesel locomotives, and more than 100 pieces of rolling stock are on exhibit.
